Viral Receptor Imaging Services

Viral Receptor Imaging Services

The initial contact between the virus and the host cell is mediated by the components on the virus surface, known as virus receptor. Once combined with cell surface receptors, the virus can enter the cell through direct fusion or penetration of cell membrane or endocytosis. Viral receptors can be proteins, glycolipids, or carbohydrates. A single virus can recognize multiple cell surface receptors, and the virus is evolving to identify the cell surface receptors most suitable for infecting host cells and bind with high affinity. Therefore, imaging analysis of virus receptors on the surface of host cells is very important for studying viral infection.

Viral Receptor Imaging Analysis

Based on the co-localization of virus and endosomal cargo or the labeling of specific intracellular compartments in fixed cells is a common method to study the entry sites of virus. However, this method has poor spatial resolution and lacks information about specific proteins. With the continuous development of imaging technology, single particle tracking has become an effective tool for the entry site of sense virus.

CD BioSciences has been committed to the development of fluorescent dyes and imaging technology for many years. We can use virus labeling and time-resolved imaging technology to track the movement of a single virus in the cell and visually analyze the complete virus infection process, so as to determine the entry site of the virus and the recognition process between the virus and its receptor.
