Tissue Lipid Imaging Services

Tissue Lipid Imaging Services

Lipids are a class of bioorganic molecules that are insoluble in water but soluble in non-polar solvents. Lipids are not only involved in a variety of physiological processes such as growth and development, neural signaling, photosynthesis, etc., but also lipid metabolism disorders have been associated with the occurrence and development of various pathologies such as cardiovascular-metabolic syndrome, tumors, Alzheimer's disease. Lipid imaging techniques can provide us with detailed information about the distribution and composition of lipids in organisms in a non-invasive method. Among them, MALDI mass spectrometry has received widely attention as a method for direct analysis of target biomolecules.

Services Overview

CD BioSciences provides comprehensive services in tissue lipid imaging analysis using advanced mass spectrometry techniques. We are able to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze information about the spatial distribution of lipids in tissues and generate histological maps of lipid biomolecules. In addition, our services use small amounts of sample to characterize and quantify a wide range of lipid classes, helping researchers to understand the lipid composition and changes in their samples. We can also directly detect and analyze changes in phospholipids in tissue sections following drug administration.

Tissue Lipid Imaging Services

Lipidomics MALDI imaging mass spectrometry (MALDI-IMS) analysis services

CD BioSciences can directly analyze lipids in tissue sections by MALDI-IMS technology, which eliminates the need for cumbersome extraction steps, reduces sample loss, and provides clients with the following information:

➢ Lipid spatial distribution information.
➢ Detect thousands of different classes of lipids, provide localization and identification based on mass charge ratio (m/z), and generate histological maps of lipid biomolecules.
➢ Direct detection of changes in phospholipids in tissue sections and analysis of changes in the three phospholipid components after drug administration.

Quantitative lipid imaging analysis services

CD BioSciences can provide quantitative lipid imaging analysis services for clients, help clients to study lipid variability in mass spectrometry imaging analysis and find biomarkers at disease sites for quantitative analysis. Our services mainly include the following:

Mass spectrometry quantification of tissue lipids

CD BioSciences offers quantitative analysis using mass spectrometry to detect lipids in tissues. We cover a wide range of lipid types from storage lipids to membrane lipids and signaling lipids, and are able to identify and quantify more than 100 lipid classes and over 4200 lipids for our clients. In addition our mass spectrometry-based lipid analysis requires very small amounts of sample. Our quantitative tissue lipid analysis service allows clients to obtain accurate and comprehensive lipid analysis results to understand the lipid composition and changes in samples.

Lipid abundance and statistical analysis

Our services normalize imaging data to total ionic currents, help clients calculate lipid abundance, and perform statistical tests to help researchers gain insight into lipid expression and changes in tissues.
