Bone Tissue Metabolic Imaging Services

Bone Tissue Metabolic Imaging Services

Services Overview

CD BioSciences provides comprehensive bone tissue metabolic imaging analysis services utilizing advanced imaging technologies and analytical methods. We help researchers to deeply study the metabolic processes of bone marrow and cortical bone, providing quantitative data reports and experimental results. The application areas include the study of bone metabolic diseases such as osteoporosis, bone metastasis, and fracture healing, evaluating the bone-protecting effects of drugs and their potential to promote bone growth, and exploring the processes and mechanisms of bone regeneration and bone healing.

Bone Tissue Metabolic Imaging Services

Cancellous bone metabolism imaging analysis services

CD BioSciences offers a variety of analytical methods to provide our clients with cancellous bone bone metabolic imaging analysis services, which help our clients to study the metabolic processes of cancellous bone tissues and provide quantitative information about the resorption and formation of cancellous bone. We offer the following analytical content:

Imaging analysis of TRAP-stained bone tissue sections

Our imaging analysis of TRAP-stained bone tissue sections allows us to measure parameters such as osteoclast count and bone resorption for our clients. The experimental report we deliver will contain the following 2 commonly used osteoclast parameters and 4 bone structure parameters:

  • Osteoclast count (N.Oc/T.Ar or N.Oc/B.Pm)
  • Osteoclast surface (Oc.S/BS, %)
  • Bone trabecular volume (BV/TV, %)
  • Bone trabecular thickness (Tb.Th, μm)
  • Trabecular separation (Tb.Sp, μm)
  • Bone trabecular number (Tb.N,/mm)

Imaging analysis of trichrome-stained tissue sections

CD BioSciences provides trichrome stained tissue section imaging analysis service for studying the information of osteoblasts, osteoid and bone structure of cancellous bone tissues, which helps clients to obtain quantitative information about cancellous bone. The following 3 commonly used osteoblast parameters and 4 bone structure parameters will be included in our delivered experimental reports:

  • Osteoid surface (OS/BS, %)
  • Osteoblast number (Ob.N)
  • Osteoblast surface (Ob.S/BS, %)
  • Bone trabecular volume (BV/TV, %)
  • Trabecular thickness (Tb.Th, μm)
  • Trabecular separation (Tb.Sp, μm)
  • Number of bone trabeculae (Tb.N,/mm)

Imaging analysis of hard tissue sections with fluorescent labeling technique and anti-quencher seal

We perform imaging analysis of dynamic bone formation in cancellous bone using fluorescent labeling techniques and hard tissue sections with anti-quencher seals. We will provide measurements of the following parameters to help our clients understand the dynamic bone formation process in cancellous bone:

  • Mineralization deposition rate (MAR, μm/d)
  • Bone formation rate (BFR)

Cortical bone osteometabolic imaging analysis services

CD BioSciences provides cortical bone metabolic imaging services to help clients gain a deeper understanding of the metabolic processes of bone tissue, and to provide quantitative data and results for the study of bone-related diseases and the evaluation of therapeutic efficacy. Our services include but are not limited to:

Cortical bone structure imaging analysis

The changes of bone metabolism can affect the structural characteristics of cortical bone, and the structural characteristics of cortical bone can also reflect the state of bone metabolism. We can perform structural analysis of cortical bone in cross-section, providing quantitative information on four commonly used cortical bone structural parameters, including:

  • Cortical bone thickness (Ct.Th, μm)
  • Cortical bone circumference (Ct.Pm, μm)
  • Cortical bone area (Ct.Ar)
  • Bone marrow cavity area (Ct.Ma.Ar)

Dynamic bone formation imaging analysis

Dynamic bone formation analysis assesses the rate of bone growth and repair by measuring specific markers in bone tissue, such as the fluorescent markers Calcein Green and Alizarin Red. This analysis provides dynamic information about the metabolic activity of bone, how metabolically active the bone is, the rate of bone growth, and the functional state of the bone tissue. CD BioSciences utilizes fluorescently labeled hard tissue slices of cortical bone to perform dynamic bone formation imaging analysis of the endosteal and external periosteum. We delivered reports with four commonly used parameters for dynamic bone formation in cortical bone, including:

  • External periosteal bone formation rate (Ps.BFR/BS)
  • External periosteal bone mineralization deposition rate (Ps.MAR)
  • Endosteal periosteal bone formation rate (Ec.BFR/BS)
  • Endosteal periosteal bone mineralization deposition (Ec.MAR)
