Apoptosis Assays Imaging Services
Apoptosis or programmed cell death is involved in many human diseases, including neurodegenerative diseases, ischemic injury, autoimmune diseases, and many types of cancer, and is often confused with other types of cell death. Therefore, the ability to visually detect apoptosis is very important for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Apoptosis Assays with Cell Imaging
Flow cytometry is a classic method of apoptosis assays. It requires a lot of processing of cells and only provides endpoint data. In contrast, kinetic imaging can determine apoptosis and necrosis events within a cell population in real time. CD BioSciences uses fluorescent probes combined with automated kinetic imaging to provide you with apoptosis and necrosis assays services to quantitatively evaluate the percentage of apoptosis and necrosis in a variety of cell lines in real time.
Apoptosis Assays Workflow
We use real-time cell imaging technology to assay the four stages of apoptosis, including the induction period of apoptosis, the early stage of apoptosis, the middle stage of apoptosis, and the late stage of apoptosis. The detailed assay steps are as follows:
Apoptosis Assays Workflow
Cell culture
The target cells were seeded in a 96-well microtiter plate at 5,000 cells per well, and cultured overnight at 37°C and 5% CO2.
Cell death induction and component addition
The cells were treated with different concentrations of apoptosis inducers, and then fluorescent dyes and apoptosis indicators were added to the culture medium.
Cell imaging
After staining, live cells were imaged using CD Biosciences' automated cell imaging system.
Image analysis
The image analysis software of CD Biosciences was used to evaluate the number and percentage of apoptotic cells.
Materials
The experimental materials used in the apoptosis detection process include HeLa cells or other cells, DMEM with L-glutamine, 10% FBS, 1% penicillin/streptomycin, staurosporine, camptothecin, apoptosis assay kit, 96-well black, clear-bottom microplates, automated cell imaging system, automated imaging and analysis software, other materials.
