Heart Imaging Services
Services Overview
CD BioSciences offers comprehensive small animal heart imaging services utilizing a variety of specialized imaging equipment. We utilize non-invasive in vivo imaging techniques to qualitatively and quantitatively study biological processes in the small animal heart at the tissue, cellular, and molecular levels without causing any damage to the animal.

Heart Imaging Services
Cardiac function assessment services
CD BioSciences utilizes high-resolution near-infrared in vivo imaging systems that allow for real-time assessment of cardiac function in small animals (mouse / rat).
- Monitor changes in blood volume during systole and diastole of the heart to assess respiration and heart rate.
- Observe the imaging of the heart at different wavelengths for in-depth study of the heart's functions.
Cardiac lipid testing services
Abnormal accumulation of cardiac lipids is often predictive of diseases such as coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction and atherosclerosis. We offer a quantitative cardiac lipid accumulation testing service to accurately evaluate lipid accumulation in animal hearts through non-invasive measurement imaging.
- Quantitative assessment
Accurate quantitative assessment of cardiac lipid accumulation to understand the distribution and extent of cardiac lipids.
- Non-invasive detection
Information on cardiac lipid accumulation is obtained through non-invasive imaging techniques, reducing the impact of experiments on animals.
- Application
This service can be widely used for efficacy assessment during drug development and research on lipid-related diseases.
Small animal in vivo cardiac imaging services
CD BioSciences provides animal cardiac imaging analysis services by selecting the appropriate imaging technology according to the client's project needs. Our technologies include but are not limited to:
Technology | Services | |
---|---|---|
Visible light imaging | Bioluminescence imaging | Monitoring cardiac cellular activity and gene behavior by labeling DNA with the luciferase gene to produce fluorescent signals in living cells. |
Fluorescence imaging | Using markers such as fluorescent proteins, fluorescent quantum dots, and other markers to create a bio-light source in animals to monitor cardiac cell activity in real time. | |
Radionuclide imaging | PET imaging | Utilizing the radionuclide tracer principle for imaging, rapid and dynamic acquisition of quantitative cardiac metabolic results such as myocardial blood flow (MBF) and myocardial metabolic glucose rate (MRGlu). |
SPECT imaging | Long half-life radioisotopes to monitor cardiac physiologic function, trace metabolic processes, and quantify receptor density, among other things. | |
CT imaging | The high-resolution flat-panel detectors and three-dimensional reconstruction techniques, high-resolution imaging is performed to analyze small animal cardiac structures. | |
MRI imaging | Provides clients with information on cardiac vascular structures with no ionizing radiation, high resolution, and the ability to visualize soft tissue structures without the use of contrast agents. | |
Ultrasound imaging | Imaging based on the propagation of sound waves through soft tissues for intuitive visualization and non-invasive examination of the heart. |
