Bone Imaging Services

Bone Imaging Services

Services Overview

Bone imaging analysis services provide an important method for evaluating and studying the structure, function, and pathology of bone tissue. CD BioSciences' bone imaging analysis services utilize state-of-the-art imaging technologies and analytical methodologies to provide comprehensive bone research support to our clients. Our services are widely used in the fields of bone tumor, bone repair, arthritis, osteoporosis, bone injury modeling, phenotyping and drug efficacy assessment.

Bone Imaging Services

Bone tissue imaging analysis and staining services

CD BioSciences provides preclinical bone histology imaging services to our clients utilizing histological staining techniques and imaging technologies, our services include:

Tissue section staining services

Tissue section staining can enhance the observation of tissue structure under the microscope. We commonly use the following staining methods, including but not limited to:

Staining Methods Function
HE Staining Used to visualize the basic structure, morphology, and cellular composition of bone tissue and evaluate the inflammatory response to material implantation.
Toluidine Blue Used to stain osteocytes, bone cells, and new and old bone.
Methyl Blue Acid Fuchsin Used for samples containing implants to measure the contact area between bone and the implant.
Goldner Used to observe new bone formation, bone trabeculae, and newly formed bone trabeculae, providing information about bone tissue structure and degree of mineralization.
Von Kossa Used to observe the morphology of mineralized bone, particularly bone trabeculae and mineralized bone.
Alizarin Red Used to stain chondrocytes, cartilage matrix, and callus.
Movat Used to observe structures such as mineralized bone and bone cells.
Alixin Blue Used for quantitative and qualitative analysis of cartilage tissue.

Our experimental projects

  • Tissue embedding
Provide customers with cartilage/osteogenic tissue embedding service.
  • Paraffin sectioning
Provide customers with cartilage/osteogenic/general soft tissue paraffin sectioning service.
  • Bone tissue micro-CT
Using micro-CT technology to image bone tissue, customers can obtain high-resolution three-dimensional images of the internal structure and microscopic morphology of bone tissue, and quantitative information on the density and structure of bone tissue.
  • Sample size requirements: diameter length ≈ 1.5cm shaft length ≈ 4cm.
  • Sample storage requirements: freshly removed samples soaked in water for 30min, removed the water and transferred to formalin for preservation at 4°C (Preservation containers and storage solution of the same batch of samples are consistent to avoid systematic errors).

Bone staining and bone immunohistochemistry sample requirements

  • Small bone samples
Strip off muscle and skin from specimen and fix with 4% paraformaldehyde.
  • Large bone samples
Human or bovine bones should be pre-sawed, and the target position should be fixed with neutral formalin.

Small animal multi-mode bone imaging services

CD BioSciences provides comprehensive small animal bone imaging services utilizing multi-mode in vivo imaging technology to observe and analyze bone structure, function and lesions, and to evaluate the effectiveness of bone-related drugs. Our services are widely used in the fields of bone tumor, bone repair, arthritis, osteoporosis, bone damage modeling, phenotyping, and drug therapy evaluation. Our imaging services include, but are not limited to:

X-ray absorption imaging technology

  • CD BioSciences utilizes non-invasive X-ray absorptiometry to help clients observe and analyze bone structure.
  • By measuring the absorption of X-rays by bone, we can get clear information about the density, structure and morphology of the bone, which enables assessment of osteoporosis and bone mass.

3D high-resolution bone imaging analysis

  • Our imaging technology is suitable for hard mineralized tissues, providing clients with non-destructive 3D high-resolution bone imaging analysis services.
  • Utilizing image processing software, provide detailed 360-degree full-angle 3D bone structure information, and obtain information such as bone morphology and density.

Drug migration assessment

  • By labeling drug molecules or using fluorescent probes, we can track the location of drugs in the bone and quantitatively assess the concentration and distribution of drugs in different bone regions.
  • Help researchers to understand the mechanism of action, penetration ability and efficacy of drugs in bone, and provide important data for drug development.

CD BioSciences has a professional team and advanced imaging equipment. The whole process of bone imaging analysis is operated by experienced technicians to ensure the accuracy of the experiment.
