Integrin Receptors Imaging Analysis

Integrin Receptors Imaging Analysis

Each integrin consists of an α-subunit and a β-subunit to form a heterodimer. As adhesion receptors, integrins can play a very important role in a wide variety of biological functions by binding to extracellular matrix proteins or other adhesion receptors of neighboring cells. Currently, drugs targeting integrins have been extensively developed in many fields, including cardiovascular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, and dry eye disease. Therefore, imaging analysis of integrin receptors is important for drug discovery.

Integrin Receptors Imaging Analysis

Epifluorescence microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy are common methods to study integrin receptor aggregation and distribution. However, the slow imaging speed and high phototoxicity limit its use in live-cell imaging. In recent years, with the development of imaging technology, fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) has become a powerful tool for visual analysis of integrin receptor structure and function.

CD BioSciences has been committed to the development of fluorescent dyes and imaging technology for many years. We can quantify integrins in the in vivo environment by fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy, fluorescence resonance energy transfer and fluorescence cross-correlation spectroscopy. We also can image interactions between integrin receptors and ligands. This will help to the development of drugs targeting integrin receptors.
