GABAA Receptors Imaging Analysis

GABAA Receptors Imaging Analysis

GABAA receptors are the main inhibitory neurotransmitter receptors in the central nervous system, which can inhibit nerve excitability by mediating the influx of extracellular chloride ions. The localization and distribution of GABAA receptors on the nerve cell membrane plays an important role in regulating the generation and transmission of nerve signals. A large number of studies have shown that the dysregulation of GABAA receptors in the cell membrane distribution level is closely related to the occurrence of neurological diseases. In addition, GABAA receptors are also important drug targets for central nervous system diseases. Therefore, imaging analysis of the structure and transport of GABAA receptors is of great importance.

GABAA Receptors Imaging Analysis

For a long time, X-ray diffraction has been regarded as the gold standard of structural biology. It requires protein crystallization and determines the protein structure according to the X-ray diffraction pattern. However, the three-dimensional structure of GABAA receptor is difficult to be analyzed by X-ray diffraction crystal analysis.

CD BioSciences has been committed to the development of imaging technology and fluorescent dye for many years. We can use confocal fluorescence microscopy and high-resolution electron microscopy to characterize the three-dimensional structure of GABAA receptors in cells. In addition, we can track the movement of individual GABAA receptors within living cells via genetically encoded fluorophores.
